How to change employee's pay schedule

Navigating to the Employee Record


  1. People Section: Navigate to the 'People' section of FreePayroll.
  2. Employee record: Click on the three dots next to the employee’s name and select 'Edit' to open the employee record.


Changing Pay Schedule


  1. Locate Salary Tab: In the employee record, click on the 'Salary' tab.
  2. Find pay schedule section: Once you are in the 'Salary' section, you will see a box, with the employee's current pay schedule name. Click on that box.
  3. Select new pay schedule: Select from the dropdown list, the new pay schedule for that employee.
  4. Save Changes: Click 'Save' to apply the changes.


Important Consideration


  • You will be responsible for ensuring that there are no overpayments or underpayments for the employee. Our system will not warn you of any underpayment or overpayment.


  • You cannot change an employee's pay schedule when that pay schedule is in a rollback state. You need to complete the rollback process first.
